I am glad I took two years of my life to serve a mission for my church. One of the side benefits was I learned Spanish while serving down in Peru. When I graduated from ISU in 1991, we were at the height of a recession and most businesses weren't hiring.
I was able to get a job with the government speaking Spanish. I also was able to clep about 16 credits in college and get a minor in Spanish.
I use Spanish almost every day of my life, and we try to go to Mexico at least once a year on vacation. That comes in very handy.
I keep up on it by talking in Spanish and of course watching Spanish television.
So learn a new language today.
